It is early in the morning when I open my eyes, feeling the clean soft white linen on my pink chubby cheeks. I toss around trying to fall back asleep but the intense smell of fresh ground coffee beans awakes my senses. I stretch my long arms, staring at my open-curtained window to find a small bird happily whistling. It is about eight in the morning and my fresh squeezed orange juice is waiting for me on the kitchen marble bench. Of course the glass is surrounded by other delicious groceries from the market and our back-garden. I am in my grandmother´s kitchen;I couldn’t expect any less. The freshness of all ingredients invade my nostrils, drawing a big grin on my face. I pick my glass of orange juice and a slice of home-made “coca de mollitas” ,walk out into the garden to sit on the yellow swing and have my breakfast. It is a gorgeous spring day: blue sky with only a few cute-shaped white clouds, the colors and the aromas of the surrounding blooming roses and lavender bushes make the peacefully silence a great moment to enjoy and one to remember. This is one of the many great memories I have of my past childhood days spent at my grandma´s summer house in the Mediterranean coast of Spain. This is a trip down memory lane whilst contemplating fruit trees, roses and herbs…and everything else constituting one of the Mediterranean essence: the passion and happiness for the healthy outdoor life. I hope you find inspiration on these colorful shots of Nature.
MUCHAS GRACIAS A MI ABUELA RAQUEL 🙂
